Your children may be anxious to grow up, but they are also innocent, vulnerable, and accustomed to a loving home environment. We understand their need to feel safe and nurtured, and will provide gentle leadership within a space that is designed to appeal to their aesthetic sensibility. It may look to them like a "big kid's" school, but it will feel a lot like home.
Through nature, art, games, and activities, we help reinforce children's cognitive learning (math, science, and pre-reading skills) through discovery and exploration. Our projects include matching/mixing/sorting of colors and shapes, use of natural things (leaves, seeds, flowers, etc.) in activities and crafts, puzzles and visual discrimination of designs, practical small motor skills (lacing, tying, etc.), large motor skill activities (climbing, building, etc.), sensory development (5 senses), gardening, and the joy and camaraderie of music.
Opportunities for play are at the heart of our activities. Play develops abilities such as creativity, teamwork/cooperation, communication, negotiation, compromise, developmental skills, goal setting, following rules/directions, self-reliance, empathy, social interaction, problem solving, self-expression, and self-confidence. It is our hope that we can inspire every child in our care with the love of learning ideas and a delight in learning with, and from, each other.
We encourage respect and courtesy to one another to protect God's innocence within His children and to help develop habits of personal interaction that could serve them for the rest of their lives.
